No more talk of the previous post. I am getting sick of it.
Let me introduce the 3 prodigies of Rikkai. Yukimura Seiichi, Sanada Genichiroh and Yanagi Renji. They are the people who lead Rikkai to the National Championship for 2 consecutive years. Amazing, isnt it. Well, there are lots more astonishing things than these.
Yukimura and Sanada can also reach the state of self-actualization and prior to this year competition, Chitose of the kansai region is the only person other than the 2 of them who can reach this state. Well, this sort of explains why Rikkai is so strong.
They are also the people who defeated Kirihara Akaya, the present junior ace for the team. This was when Akaya gave them the nickname of the 3 demons and swore to defeat them altogether in the near future.
Renji is the person who gathered data from his rival's team and provide them for his teammates. A truly smart guy, he can predict the outcome of the matches rather accurately. He also has superb tennis skills. He is also a childhood friend of Inui Sadaharu, a person he imparted his data tennis to. They had a match 4 years ago, and the match was abruptly stopped by their coach at a score of 5-4. This time, they are finally able to close out the match at a score of 7-6. It was sad that Renji lost at the end, but i reckon it was a good experience for him since he has practically lost no matches at all in his entire time in Rikkai. Well, though Akaya has the SOSA and might very possibly beat Renji. I still wouldnt deny his potential being a scary demon in courts.
Sanada is nicknamed the emperor of tennis. A solemn person who will use violence to reprimand/discipline his teammates. He is also a ruthless player, using all his might against Ryoma Echizen who is only a freshman. The defeat was traumatizing to him, since he promises his captain, Yukimura that they wont have a single loss when they deliver the Kanto championship medal to him. He also lost the title of being the strongest junior high player after losing the match. Nevertheless, Sanada is my favorite character of the whole anime and manga, i just love it when he slaps people, stare at people and scold people.
According to accounts made by POT fanatic. Yukimura skills are above those of Sanada. Though not proven in any sense yet, i believed it is true. The reason being it is very simple, Yukimura is the captain of the almighty Rikkai, and the respect that Sanada gave him can also support this inference. Looked at the way Sanada treats Renji, who is also a prodigy like Yukimura is a completely different thing at the way he treats his buchou. Well, i agree that the vice-captain should respect his captain. But with Sanada personalities, how would he let someone weaker than him be the captain of this mighty team, it just doesnt make sense. Anyway, Yukimura is someone who has personalities opposite of his vice-captain. He is a friendly guy, sort of resembles Fuji Syusuke of Seigaku. He is also not the kind of big and muscular person who everyone expects of a captain of Rikkai. He is frail, sort of feminine, just dont look like the kind who could be a demon in a tennis court.
Overall, they are my favorite characters of POT. Marui, Jackal, Niou, Yagyuu and Akaya are also my favorites. Rikkai is my favorite team of all. Believe it or not, they will trash Seishun Garden this year. Banzai(Long live) Rikkai Dai Fuzoku.
